These prevailing elements that were bequeathed man by British-colonial infrastructures of 60s remain anti-freedom and liberty today. . In 2009, this blemished-estate is worse than what it was in post-colonial era.

Disappointedly as it were, discrimination against women in Nigeria still exists in a large proportion, considering the debilitating occurrences in which women as victims appear to be at the centre stage. However, humanism as a branch of philosophy posits the equality and dignity of all humans. It further advocates the dethronement of all forms of discrimination, oppression or subjugation in its entirety.

The Yar'adua administration may have been conferred with legality with the recent ruling of the Supreme Court but that does make the government a legitimate one. Despite the best of intentions, the fact remains obvious and has not changed much because at best Yar'Adua's government has remained a 'go-slow' one. The phrase used to describe the traffic chaos in Lagos and these days Abuja, "A man or woman of integrity cannot be perplexed or frightened, they go on in fortune or misfortune at their own private pace like a clock during a thunderstorm...Blaine Lee, 1997"

Ribadu could be a victim of circumstance who in all honesty did according to the dictates of his 'BOSS', with good intentions. His work was applauded by most Nigerians, especially from abroad, and by most world leaders. Through his good work, 'Nigeria' was removed from the 'Black Book' of most of Developed countries. Ribadu's situation looks like when you try spill ashes on your neighbor, most of it powders your body big time.
