Energy, Oil and Gas

Switzerland is about to become ground zero for the future of health policy in Africa. Next week, the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Intergovernmental Working Group will convene in Geneva to discuss public health, medical innovation, and intellectual property. Many participants are expected to express their support for efforts to undermine patent protections for drugs. In doing so, however, these attendees ignore the more fundamental problem facing poor African nations— dilapidated healthcare infrastructure.

That top executives of the five biggest U.S. oil companies were recently pressed to explain the soaring fuel prices amid huge industry profits and why they weren't investing more to develop renewable energy source such as wind and solar. I am most familiar with the city of Lagos and it will be most disappointing to you to discover that the economic heart of the giant of Africa is that dirty on the account of solid waste problem.

    PHCN and me

The light situation in Nigeria is really bad! In the last one month, Lagos has been in total power outage.  Indeed, reports have it that the whole of Nigeria is suffering the same fate. As usual, I do not claim to be knowledgeable in the science of power supply or any form of electrical engineering so; this is simply my view on the issue as it affects my little life! I sleep late every night- trying to fan myself and concurrently trying to ward of mosquitoes.
